Jennifer Bradley, 4 in One Camera Ready Foundation

By Dahlia Acevedo I have started to like makeup for the first time in my life. In my twenties and thirties all I wore was eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. My skin was firm and soft looking. Once I turned forty I started to lose some of my natural coloring and looked older. I started to wear eyeliner and blush. Fast forward a few years, I noticed red patches or small bouts of acne have started to appear. And lately, as I approach  46, I have noticed more sun spots have appeared. Nothing I purchased worked to cover it all up. Foundations felt heavy, smelled funky, dried out my skin, caused me to break out, and made me look older! I was desperate for a good product. I kept seeing a video of Jennifer Bradley applying the 4 in 1 to her face after a chemical peal, as well as before and after photos of women who have experienced great results after using the product. I caved and purchased the foundation, even though I wouldn't normally spend so much on makeup. It turns out it was

Los Liones Canyon (Hiking the Parker Mesa Overlook trail)

Los Liones Canyon                              By Dahlia Acevedo 510 Los Liones Dr, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272 It's always awesome finding new coastal hiking trails. I wasn't expecting such a challenging hike. But the payoff at the top is SO worth the struggle. Upon entering you will find a sign listing the different hiking trails. We took the 3.5 mile, Parker Mesa Overlook trail. This moderately strenuous, up hill all the way, hike, offers more than a handful of  beautiful ocean views. It is very green and lovely, with pretty wild flowers sprinkled throughout. The weather is a lot cooler out this way, so you can enjoy a wonderful ocean breeze that will cool you off.  The following are pics taken during the hike:  (Blog continues below) The scenic overlook affords gorgeous views of the coastline and the city of Los Angeles. Not to mention a delicious breeze that will make you want to stay up there forever. Thankfully, the hike back

Angels Camp

It's as if no time has passed. We are together and happy, twice a year within a five month period. The rest of the year passes quickly, and the kids are suddenly a year older, smarter, more talented, have developed real personalities, and a wicked sense of humor. Then suddenly, they are teenagers with a pretty good understanding of the world around them, pretty sure of themselves, who they are, and what they wish to do with their lives: Jason knows exactly where he wants to go to college and wishes to become an Engineer. He is wickedly smart and talented (he plays the drums), and no doubt will excel at anything he tries. Nick has become quite the athlete. And although I am unsure what direction his life will go in, I'm sure it will involve training for the junior Olympics, or an athletic scholarship to some college. He excels in Science and may just go on to become a Doctor or Scientist. Italia is already an accomplished Artist and athlete. Today she showed me some bea

Age Defying Products: TruSkin Eye Gel and Vitamin C Daily Facial Moisturizer

By Dahlia Acevedo Meet TruSkin's wonderful under eye gel with Vitamin D and Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid helps to retain moisture (something we lose over time), and works as a plumping agent (fills in wrinkles and tightens the skin, making them less noticeable, helping you to look younger!). This eye gel contains plant stem cells, a peptide complex and vitamin E. And, it starts working immediately! Lets cover benefits: Before purchasing this product I read reviews of persons claiming it does an amazing job clearing up under eye circles. Which is something admittedly I've always had, due to genetics and allergy issues. After using the product for a couple of months now, I can honestly say I haven't seen much of a difference. HOWEVER, this is a great product I stand behind. It appears to be pricey at fifteen dollars a bottle, since it only contains 0.5 oz. However, it lasts for a long time, and I apply it semi-generously. You can even apply it to the upper eye lid,

Point Dume Natural Preserve In Malibu (hiking alongside the ocean)

The drive up towards Point Dume was breath taking. We took Kanan road for twelve miles during which time we saw awesome mansions, vineyards, and lavender covered hillsides (Lupine flowers most likely), expansive and gorgeous. Then of course that Ahh feeling, as the ocean suddenly appears. It was so wonderful to be near the ocean with it's ocean breeze, sound of waves breaking, and seagulls flying overhead. Some of the best  hikes are alongside the ocean, boasting stunning look out spots of the coast. My favorite being the Malibu Lagoon State Beach trail. The long hike walk (really feels like a hike), from the parking lot to the beach area. Malibu Lagoon State Beach         Today's hike was at Point Dume Natural Preserve in Malibu. There are three different hiking trails one can take. The easiest being the boardwalk hike. The most challenging being the tide pool trail. The first hike we took was from the parking lot, up the side of the cliff, offering gentle, gradual e

Four Super Foods You Should Eat Daily For Optimal Health

By Dahlia Acevedo Remember I spoke about establishing a healthy exercise routine. Well, establishing good eating habits, routinely eating the same food items for optimal health, works the same way. Make sure you stock up on these four food items weekly so you can enjoy eating them daily and reap their health benefits. I hardly ever get sick. When I do, its normally a small cold that goes away in a few days. I really do believe this is a direct result of the vitamin and antioxidant rich foods I eat daily. The following foods will strengthen your immune system, boost your energy levels, and help improve focus / mental clarity, among many other things.                          Eggs   Yes, you can have two eggs per day! Eat the whole dang egg! Its protein rich, chock full of vitamins, antioxidants and GOOD cholesterol. Did you know they contain vitamin D, which helps you absorb calcium and is good for your bones. Also, they contain vitamin B12, which helps to regulate your mood, and
