Color Street Nail Polish Strips

I wasn't expecting to like Color Street Nail polish strips as much as I do. If you've never heard of Color Street, they consist of real nail polish in a dry strip form. They are long lasting, durable, and come in  many beautiful and fun designs, for all seasons. For a long period of time I couldn't live without going to the salon once every three weeks to a month, to get my nails done. At first I sported acrylics, then switched to gel nails. I was getting both a manicure and pedicure, throwing a lot of money away. Sure, I felt I deserved it, I work hard and wanted to pamper myself. Plus, I felt more feminine and attractive. Unfortunately my polish would start to chip off a couple days later, driving me absolutely batty! I felt the need to rush back to the salon to have them repair a nail or two, which would cost even more money. I finally just grew tired of it and stopped going to the salon. I felt happy, like I was saving money. Fast forward several years later, and I was introduced to Color Street Nail Polish Strips via a consultant friend. I requested samples, saw that they lasted a long while without chipping, and decided to order a few summer time sets.

I am a very active person, exercising, doing yard work, gardening, daily typing (for work), etc. Even so, my polish has not chipped or weathered (after two weeks wear). My nails have grown, so of course the color has risen upwards away from the cuticle. I am ready to change them out for another set. Only because I'm a perfectionist. I currently have three more sets to go through, "Water you up to", "Tokyo Lights", and "Meet me in Paris" (french manicure). And I'm currently awaiting "Clear as Day" top coat strips, which will help my polish last even longer. I cant wait to purchase a FUN Halloween print for October :)

At $11 to $14 a pair, you really can't go wrong. The salon charges upwards of $26 for a gel manicure, and $19 for a pedicure. Plus tip, And unless you bring in your own polish or request a special design, the salon typically has a dull / poor selection to choose from.

Lets go over the Pro's and Con's of Color Street Nail Polish Strips:

Pros: Anti-Chip, long lasting beautiful color, almost zero wear and tear, inexpensive, spotless application (no mess): Each strip contains a base coat, color coat and top coat in every strip. If you apply a clear coat atop the nails they last even longer. If you place "Clear as Day", atop your nail color strips (once you give them a few minutes to dry), they will last even longer: My nails have thinned and were breaking off. Color Street nail strips help to strengthen your nails. AND nail polish sets are inexpensive. BONUS, Each set comes with an extra large nail bed strip that you can use on your big toes! I did that with my last pair and love it!

Cons: Not very easy to apply (takes quite a while), If one neglects to push their cuticles back, or remove them, the polish at the bottom of the nail bed tends to lift. I had this issue with several of my nails. I combated this by applying another layer of clear top coat. A tiny bit of wear occurs at the tips over time. Probably even less so if you don't type on a regular basis.

The benefits clearly out way any inconvenience and slight wear. Especially now that many salons have closed due to Covid, and people have opted to stay home and be safe. Color Street Nails has a wide fan base of women who adore the product. Hiking Among the Beautiful Wild Flowers in Malibu

Getting out in nature is good for the soul, to unplug and get away from it all for a few hours. As you know contributes to peace of mind and emotional well being. What could be better than hiking by the ocean with it's spectacular views, light ocean breeze and fresh air. Located off PCH Highway, both hiking spots are within a couple blocks of each other, and very easy to find.  Malibu Bluffs Park: One of my all time favorite places to go. Is always a pleasure, especially during the spring time. I have fond memories of taking my son there as a kid, picnicking and flying kites. There are two cool playgrounds, a sand pit and a zip line area. The place has changed a lot since I've been there last (about a year ago). They have cleared away brush from the walking path around the grass, allowing for additional views of the ocean and homes on the hillsides (which are fabulously covered in yellow wild flowers at the moment). To my absolute delight, they have created a clearly marke

Discover the Picturesque Longridge Park Hiking Trail (Sherman Oaks, CA)

Me and the hubs out to discover new hiking trails in the San Fernando Valley, hit up Dixie Canyon Park first, in Sherman Oaks. First of all, Park??? There is a clearly marked trail that leads to, well, nowhere. At a certain point, after hiking about ten minutes, the trail (?) becomes WAY too narrow and dangerous with loose gravel and mud pockets. We had to turn around and head back the way we came. This is a charming little spot if you live in the direct vicinity of the "Park". It is very green and shaded over. On the plus side, the drive up is VERY pretty. Dixie Canyon is tucked into the hills of a picturesque, upper class neighborhood, full of McMansions, and all around beautiful homes of varying architecture. After Dixie Canyon I wasn't ready to go home. So, I chose for us to visit Longridge Park (?)  Longridge Park Trailhead is located up in the hills of Sherman Oaks, at the end of a lovely residential street. Again, the drive up was spectacular, through a fairy tale

Absolutely Magical butterfly Den Discovery! In Lake Balboa!

So, the butterflies have emerged once again now that the weather has warmed quite a bit. They are everywhere, BUT I have discovered the mother of all butterflies dens. A truely magical place hidden away from the main paths. While out for a bike ride today I decided to take a semi-dirt path, almost completely hidden off the main street. I had accidentally stumbled across it before, but hadn't the time to explore it. Today upen entering the bike path, off Burbank Blvd, I was completely taken aback by the sheer amount of butterflies, seemingly attracted to the bright yellow wild flowers growing along both sides of the path. I stopped for quite a long while to video tape them, but upon viewing the footage, I realized it does not compare / do the place justice. I hopped back on my bike and rode a little further, which is when I saw a closed off (barred) path to my right, with a small opening, large enough to walk a bike through. This hidden jem of a path contained even more
