Walker Canyon and Lake Point Park (Lake Elsinore)

Walker Canyon By Dahlia Acevedo I'd hoped we'd see more of a poppy / wild flower bloom, being that we visited right after a couple weeks of heavy rain.  Despite all that, this gem of a hiking spot did not disappoint, boasting rolling green hills with lovely viewing areas. Although poppies and wild flowers were sparse, they can be seen throughout the park (orange poppies, yellow and blue wild flowers, and purple lupine).  We were surprised to see the place was bustling, with just enough people. For the most part everyone was in good spirits, some even making eye contact and saying hello. Great that it is located right off the freeway and there is plenty of parking.  Once again the hike began with a pretty steep incline and continues upward through the rolling hills. It is challenging without feeling difficult and there were very few children on the trail. I enjoyed watching everyone ascend higher in the distance, and took great pleasure in seeing my son Nicholas

Glendale Peak Trail Head (Happy Hiking!)

GLENDALE PEAK TRAIL HEAD By Dahlia Acevedo Now is a great time to get out into nature (Avoid those crowds) , Especially after the rains we've been having. I have a feeling this year we will witness another super bloom! There are so many places to see colorful poppies, cherry / plum / orange blossom trees, and wild flowers. One of them being Death Valley, and I can't wait! (Yes, we will make a trip there soon and I promise to blog about it, include beautiful pictures). But I digress! This particular post is about the awesome new trail I discovered (thanks to a friend that is), in Glendale, outside of the Griffith Park Observatory.  Once again, I don't know how I've lived in LA County for so long, with so many amazing places yet to disover. The Glendale Peak Trail is located across from the Greek Theater (great outdoor venue where we saw Linsey Sterling perform). You will find a massive and free parking lot situated directly across from the trail on Vermont C
