Disney Villains Makeup Line by Colourpop

By Dahlia Acevedo
Okay, I never get excited about makeup anything. It's just a part of my daily routine, and I don't go anywhere, including to the grocery store, without it. BUT!, when I saw the advertisement for the soon to be released Disney Villains Makeup Line, I actually felt like I wanted to try it! I'm sure a lot of it has to do with me being a pretty big Disney fan. Well, who isn't, am I right?!, and come on, we especially LOVE the villains. They are what make the movies fun!

Now, I'm not one to make a bold statement, as I don't like attention, so I purchased the Dr. Facilier Lux cream lipstick. A perfect combination of rose and brown.  It is a more natural color that looks great on. Let me tell you, I have searched high and low for this color. It is actually really hard to find. I love how you get a color that is more like a mat and less like a gloss. That lasts for many hours through various meals, snacks and drinks. I normally wear gloss, as lipstick typically dries out my lips, gets on my teeth and comes off easily.  However, I have already picked out my second Disney Villains color, that I plan to purchase soon. The Ursula deep red shade.

If you wish to purchase more than the lipstick, each Disney Villain can be purchased as part of a set that has a matching eye shadow, highlighter, lip gloss and body glitter for $25.00. As shown in the upper left hand photo.

Colourpop also sells a Disney Princess makeup line, called the  "Disney Designer Collection". It is exactly the same concept as the Disney Villain line, with a different shade of lipstick, plus matching makeup products (sets) for each Disney Princess. The set includes a lipstick (LUX cream), eye shadow and lip gloss and is $18.00.  The one difference is the lipsticks come in slightly different shades (awesome right!). The packaging  looks beautiful, and I feel tempted to purchase one or a few of their lipsticks. I have included the link to the Disney Princess Line below.

  2. Where do you buy these? I think my fav is the same as yours...the Rosey brown one. I have been experimenting with cosmetics lately. Branching out with colors and techniques. Basically tying to reverse the age on my face. Getting old sucks, girl!

    1. I bought mine through the Colourpop site. It is a beautiful color! I can see it looking great on you :) As far as I know the only other places the lipsticks are being sold are shopdisney.com and colourpop.com. eby sells them for a lot so be careful. They shouldn't cost more than eight dollars. Other places, like Walmart, are selling their eye shadow pallets or body glitter, for example, but not the lipsticks.

Ocean Trails Reserve - Rancho Palos Verdes (Ocean views galore)

Ocean Trails Reserve - Palos Verdes                 By: Dahlia Acevedo Where has this Ocean trail been all my life?! I viewed several posts about the place, as well as photographs, which did not do this place justice at all! We are talking 360 beautiful views of the golf course (which runs parallel to the trail at first), gorgeous homes in the distance, the mountains, as well as constant ocean views. Let me just take a moment to comment on the color of the ocean (really colors), A deep blue with turquoise pools, crystal clear in spots, exposing the algae below (coastline). There are four paths, two that lead down to the beach area, which is completely covered in small, grayish white rocks. Making it totally unique and picturesque. I've never seen anything like it. I've  posted a picture of the awesome looking zig zag trail leading down to the beach. Once you descend, you will see the bottom half of the cliffs are covered in rolling green, gra...

Jennifer Bradley, 4 in One Camera Ready Foundation

By Dahlia Acevedo I have started to like makeup for the first time in my life. In my twenties and thirties all I wore was eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. My skin was firm and soft looking. Once I turned forty I started to lose some of my natural coloring and looked older. I started to wear eyeliner and blush. Fast forward a few years, I noticed red patches or small bouts of acne have started to appear. And lately, as I approach  46, I have noticed more sun spots have appeared. Nothing I purchased worked to cover it all up. Foundations felt heavy, smelled funky, dried out my skin, caused me to break out, and made me look older! I was desperate for a good product. I kept seeing a video of Jennifer Bradley applying the 4 in 1 to her face after a chemical peal, as well as before and after photos of women who have experienced great results after using the product. I caved and purchased the foundation, even though I wouldn't normally spend so much on makeup. It turns out it was...

Intermittent Fasting, and My Personal Experience

By Dahlia Acevedo My mother was actually the first person to enlighten me about intermittent fasting. I remember her being really excited about the prospect of not being on an actual diet, and having to constantly think about what you put in your mouth. She explained that participants in a recent study continuously lost weight every week without changing anything about their daily routine (this includes what they ate and how often they ate). They simply stuck to a 12 hour on / 12 hour off fasting period. For example, if they had their first meal or snack at 9am, and their last meal or snack at 9pm. They would then refrain from ingesting anything but water, from 9pm until 9am. This means, no liquids (milk, juice, soda), no alcohol, and no sugar. And let me tell you, this is doable! The last time I saw my mother (a few weeks back), she told me she has lost seven pounds fasting twelve hours a day. I was so excited for her! Now, to be fair, I  asked if she has been eating any dif...
